The membership of Athol Forestry Cooperative met at the Wandlyn on June 2 for their 34th Annual General Meeting. Mr. Duff Montgomerie, Deputy Minister of Natural Resources spoke to the membership on the future direction of management of small privately owned woodlots in Nova Scotia. There are approximately 31,000 small woodlot owners in the Province who collectively hold almost half of the forested land base. Anyone wishing further information on managing their woodlot and how the new regulations may affect them, can contract any of the staff at Athol Forestry.
